Despite most people's tendency to shy away from this topic, nearly one-quarter of Jesus’ teaching was about money.

The truth is that money is not evil; in fact, it is morally neutral. However, what we do with our money reveals something much deeper—what’s in our hearts (Matthew 6:21).

God is the creator and owner of everything, so we are simply stewards over what he gives us (1 Chronicles 29:14).

Giving financially to the work that God is doing through the local church out of our “first fruits” breaks the greed in our life, stops it from being an idol, and is an acknowledgment that all we have has been given to us by God and is to be used for his purposes (Matthew 25:14-30).

 

generosity is an expression of worship in response to all that God has done in our lives.
